About the Role:
As a Legal Counsel at Lysa, you will be part of the Legal function, while also being embedded in two of our cross-functional product development teams: "ARC" and "Internal Systems". At Lysa, a product team is a group consisting of product manager, developers, designers, and a legal counsel, all collaborating to drive a specific product area forward.
The teams you will be a part of:
- ARC (Attract Reach and Convert): Our ARC team is responsible for marketing, communication channels, brand, and customer acquisition.
- Internal Systems: Our internal systems product team plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and security of the company's operations. The team is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing the tools and processes that support day-to-day business activities.
You will work closely both with your colleagues in the product development teams and across the broader Legal function, handling a wide range of legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bring your legal expertise into the product development teams to address operational needs and ensure that legal considerations are embedded in product decisions.
- Manage legal matters related to digital compliance (data privacy, ICT, DORA, AI) as well as general commercial law.
- Advise on procurement of third-party services, including conducting risk assessments, reviewing and negotiating contracts, and contract management.
- Enable innovation by providing legal advice on privacy risks, data-driven activities, and the use of digital technologies.
- Support the privacy and DORA compliance program, including updating privacy and cookie policies, internal instructions and other steering documents.
- Handle legal matters related to customer communication, marketing, and brand management.
You will be part of a strong legal team within the Lysa Group, consisting of five lawyers working across Funds, Securities Operations, and Life Insurance. You will report to Lysa’s Legal Counsel for Digital Compliance.

Qualifications
- Master of Laws (LL.M. or Swedish Juristexamen).
- Approximately 2–3 years of relevant experience from a business law firm or other relevant consultancy firm, or similar role within a tech company.
- Strong experience in data privacy and solid understanding of legal aspects of data-driven activities [(e.g., tracking, profiling, analytics)] and use of digital tools.
- Experience with procurement of third-party services, conducting risk assessments, and reviewing and negotiating contracts.
- Tech-minded and comfortable working with tech companies or digital products.
- Experience and interest in AI is considered an advantage, as well as experience with DORA/ICT regulations.
- Background in a regulated industry (e.g., FinTech) or a strong personal interest in personal finance and savings is highly valued.

This role is part of our Legal function team and our product development teams Internal Systems and ARC. The position is based in Stockholm or Karlskrona, reporting to Legal Counsel for Digital Compliance.
