Over the last decade, the demand for Marketing and Advertising Technology has increased exponentially, as consumers spend an increasing amount of their time and money online. The management and shareholders of Burt Intelligence have identified an opportunity to build on the company’s strengths and accelerate growth by complementing the existing core business with an aggressive M&A agenda.
The team consists of three offices, Gothenburg/Stockholm – R&D/management, Berlin – Sales & Client EMEA and New York – Sales and Marketing. As a result of the clear M&A strategy, both the team and businesses are growing fast and the need for structure and joint operational processes for Burt as a company is increasing. The first acquisition will soon take place and thus the company will need to ensure a smooth transition into Burt.
Therefore, they are now looking for a new COO to lead the charge during the company’s upcoming expansion.
About the role
The COO of Burt will primarily be responsible for the integration of acquisitions, while maintaining a solid foundation for the company to grow upon.
This means:
- Taking ownership of policies, HR and building the company culture as the number of employees increases.
- Working with terms & conditions to ensure compliance across subsidiaries.
- Managing all operational aspects of the company.
Seeing that this is a new position, you will be given responsibility from day one. You will report to the CEO and be a crucial part of the management team. The position is based in Stockholm or Gothenburg, with the possibility of joining the office in New York if desirable.
Some of your tasks and responsibilities:
- Development and implementation of plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization.
- Ensure all HR related functions are correctly performed.
- Establish a company culture built upon common values.
- Ownership of the Due Diligence process of new companies.
- Establish key performance indicators including measurements of effectiveness.
- Manage negotiations of supplier contracts and procurements.
Requirements of experience
- Experience from a growth company, preferably within SaaS.
- B2B experience.
- Experience of having worked with company acquisitions and integrations.
- Have a strong understanding of multinational companies. Clear advantage if you understand the American market.
- Accustomed to working with BI and insights.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English with the ability to easily communicate complex ideas.
It's a great bonus if you have an
- Experience from financial reporting.
- Extensive knowledge of Google Sheets.
- Understanding of HR issues.
